Ballarat - Midlands Reserve Water Play Park
The Midlands Reserve Water Park features water cannons, fountains, high pressure jets, a 260 litre-per-minute waterfall, soaking buckets, water umbrella, a five metre high tower and a gentle play area for toddlers.
The water park is also environmentally friendly and safe, recirculating all of the water used with the same level of water treatment as an outdoor pool. Water only sprays when users press the activator, and the park operates only during the day and the outdoor pool season.
The surrounding Midlands Reserve parkland has park benches, ample shade for picnics and a public toilet.

Review:
The Water Park has got a few more items since we visited to add to the fun. There is a concrete base with 14 sprays from pipes of various shapes and forms, 9 sprays from the ground and a circular cluster of sprays. One end is designed to be quieter and suited to younger kids while the energy level is a lot higher at the other end.
Don't forget that you need to find the start button (on a short pole on the edge of the water park) to start the water sprays.
The concrete pad is fringed by artificial grass and there is a large shade sail over an area of natural grass. There are toilets, a decent playground very close by and big grassy area. There aren't any seats for parents close to the water park area.
Since the photos have been taken, a shade shelter with two tables and a BBQ have been added.
